A Salute to The King of Pop

Michael Jackson has been labeled everything from a great musician to a freak show, but lately people have been focusing on the issues around him that many forget how brilliant his music is. He was not given the label the King of Pop for no reason – he has five studio albums that have reached best-selling status and has had thirteen number-one hits in the US between the years 1971 and 2003. Songs such as “Beat It”, “Smooth Criminal”, “Billie Jean”, “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You”, and the ever-popular “Thriller”, among other things, have been considered classics in the music industry and serve as surviving proof of why he is considered music royalty.

Apart from being a singer and a dancer/choreographer, Michael is also a songwriter. Most of his popular songs have been penned by him. His experience in the music industry shows in his ear for music, as he has been in the music industry since 1967 as a member of The Jackson Five. Today, in spite of all the controversies that have surrounded him and have continued to follow him through the years, he remains to be one of the best-selling musicians of all time. He has also kept his label as the King of Pop, as he has well proved to the world that he deserves the title with his commercial success and with the critical acclaim he continues to receive with regards to his music. Truly, Michael Jackson is a legend on his own.
