When one hears of the country Switzerland there is one major sight that people remember or think of if they have not yet seen it: The Swiss Alps. It is such a majestic part of the country that people all over the world travel to see it, and many artists have featured it in their works, be it in photography or in paintings. But there are other places that you can visit in Switzerland aside from The Alps.
You can visit the city of Zurich, and get a feel of how the old Switzerland was in that city through its architecture and the layout of the city itself. Make sure to stop by the Old Town when you are there. Also, you can visit Basel, where museums are situated, so that you can get more of that historical feel for Switzerland.
You can also visit Lugano and see the Lake Lugano, which is a sight to see with its clear blue waters and the greenery surrounding the lake. Then you can go on train trips to be able to see more of Switzerland. You can go on The Glacier Express, which will take you not only through the Alps but through the southern portion of Switzerland as well.
The train ride provides you with great scenery at high altitude so that you can appreciate the whole picture. Make your visit to Switzerland memorable by not just focusing on one point but by making it a point to go to as many places as you can.
